Dino Dig

One of our kindergarten classes was learning about dinosaurs, so I thought I would continue with this idea. We put on our imaginary paleontologist vests and hats and watched a video and song about a paleontology. Next, we discussed how we were going to pretend a cookie was a dinosaur and the chips inside were bones! We made an estimation of number of "bones" we thought would be in our dino and then we began digging, cleaning, and sorting. Students used a bent paperclip and a paintbrush for their tools. We counted our final number and compared our results within our table.
