Windmill Blade Design

First grade has been working hard in their science unit in their classroom, using Engineering is Elementary Curriculum, where they are working to engineer a windmill. In STEAM class, we drew out our design ideas with scientific labels one day and discussed them with peers. Next class, students used materials to create the blade designs. Students used materials including straws, paper, notecards, and popsicle sticks. I am excited to hear how their testing goes, as they will be doing that in their classrooms.
