Shadows and Groundhog Day

Kindergarten got some hands-on exploration with shadows today. They were given a tub of random toys, blocks, and recycled materials and were challenged to see how they can move, stretch, and shrink shadows. They used an LED light and 3v battery as their light source. This was good practice to show students how the LED connects to the battery. Students then traced the shadows on paper. Some students took this a step further and added in an art element, by coloring in the line tracing with different colors.
