Optical Illusions

Kindergarten learned about optical illusions. We began by reading the book Duck! Rabbit! by Amy Krouse. Students thought it was funny how the character in the book looked like both a duck and a rabbit. We explored some other optical illusions found online. One photo showed people that appeared to be different heights, but once we measured them we realized they were all the exact same height! The students thought it was very funny that our eyes and brain were "playing tricks" on us. Students then made their own optical illusions to take home with them. We made spinning pumpkins. On one side of a note card we drew pumpkins and the other had a face. When we spin it quickly, it appears to merge together.
